Pyongyang, September 11 (KCNA) -- An event took place in Helsinki on Sept. 5 to mark the 45th anniversary of the formation of the Finland-Korea Society.
Present there were figures of the society, the Finnish Communists' League and the Paektu Association of Finland and other masses.
Present there on invitation were personages of the organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people in Europe including Sweden, Denmark, France and Poland, the chairman of the Korean Friendship Association headquartered in Spain, staff members of the DPRK embassy in Stockholm and members of a delegation of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries.
Pekka Leppanen, honorary chairman of the Finland-Korea Society, was awarded Order of DPRK Friendship 2nd Class there.
He expressed his determination to intensify the activities of the society in the future, too, saying he felt proud of having worked for the development of the friendly relations between the two countries in the past.
