Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- Paek Hung Ryong (30) and his wife Jin Chan I (25) have come over to the northern half of Korea from south Korea.
Paek was born in Ryongsan district, Seoul and Jin Chan I in Kwanak district.
He worked his way through a middle school and left a university in mid-course. since then, he took different jobs before producing films as a representative of the "namnuri screen" from 1991.
Referring to the motive of his defection, Paek Hung Ryong said:
While producing and screening films in the south, I saw the north's films "the flower girl", "the nation and destiny" and others screened by students struggling for independence, democracy and reunification, when i learned about realities of the north and came to long for the socialist system in the north under which man-centred politics is administered, different from that in the south.
Morever, when i was abroad i heard from overseas compatriots that the north is a well-being society for the people. While reading the "theory on cinematic art", obtained from them, I realised that general Kim Jong Il is, indeed, the great leader revered by the nation and the master of literature and art.
"Convinced that the road to patriotism conducive to reunification of the divided nation even a little is to come over the north, I succeeded in coming to the north together with my wife," he said.
