Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- Papers here today frontpage
a message of greetings sent by Secretary Kim Jong Il to
President of the Islamic Republic of Iran
Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani on the occasion of the Islamic new
year.
Also frontpaged in papers is news that Secretary Kim Jong Il
thanked model agitators across the country and sent a wreath to
the bier of the late Ryu Ryol, a people's artiste of the mansudae
art troupe.
Papers give an account of events held abroad to mark the
birthday of Secretary Kim Jong Il. Foreign newspapers
published articles on this occasion, says the press.
Given in Rodong sinmun is an account of a Korean film
month opened with due ceremony in sweden to mark the 85th
birth anniversary of the great leader president
Kim Il Sung.
Under the fixed title "upholding a peerless great man"
Minju joson edits an article headlined "great love recorded
in history of defence sports", illustrated by a picture of
comrade Kim Jong Il giving on-site guidance to the april 25
defence sports group on march 9, 1975.
The paper devotes nearly one whole page to an article
titled "recalling the activities of a great man in jilin",
which was written by a chinese commanding officer of the
third army of the allied anti-Japanese forces about the
early revolutionary activities of president Kim Il Sung.
Rodong Sinmun carries a revolutionary anecdote on
Secretary Kim Jong Il's double-crop test farming.
The paper comes out with an article on the loving care
and benevolence shown by President Kim Il Sung, comrade
Kim Jong Suk and Secretary Kim Jong Il for a revolutionary
martyr Kim Sang Chun, who was a security man, and his
children.
An article of the paper stresses the need to staunchly
fight with revolutionary optimism.
Given in the press is an account of a national art
exhibition opened to mark the 80th anniversary of the
formation of the Korean National Association (March 23,
1917).
Highlighted in the press are voices of South Korean and
foreign public circles about the Hanbo scandal in South
Korea.
Rodong Sinmun in a commentary denounces Kim young Sam
for crying over "possible provocation", "coastal aggression"
and other "threats from the north" at the "51st graduation
ceremony" of the puppet naval academy.
The paper runs an article titled "poisonous spider, king
of fascism lording it over people" written by Paek Hung
Ryong, who was an agent of the "Agency for National Security
Planning" of South Korea before defecting to the northern
half of Korea.
A commentary of the paper brands the Japanese
Government's plan to set up a "ministry of security" as a
dangerous act pursuing a military power and overseas
expansion.
The paper in an article says the "freedom" of ideology
on the lips of the imperialists is a deceptive slogan for
injecting their reactionarly ideology.
Minju Joson carries an article headlined "nuclear
weapons, actual threat".
