Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea, chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People’s Army, provided on-the-spot guidance to the ballistic missile firing drill of Hwasong artillery units of the KPA Strategic Force.
Making the rounds of launching grounds, the Supreme Commander got familiar with the readiness for the drill and heard the programme for firing before ordering the units to start the exercise.
The firing drill was conducted by limiting the range in simulation of preemptive strikes against sea and air ports in the south Korean operational zone to which US nuclear war equipment is committed. It examined once again the features of operation of the control devices for detonating nuclear warheads in ballistic missiles at fixed altitudes of the target areas.
The Supreme Commander was satisfied with the successful exercise, highly praising Hwasong gunners of the Strategic Force for being fully ready for any unexpected order and accurate and precise every time in terms of mobility and striking power.
He assigned the accompanying senior officials of the WPK Central Committee, scientists and technicians of the nuclear weapons research sector and commanding officers of the KPA Strategic Force important tasks to be tackled in fully ensuring promptness and security of operation of the nuclear strike system, perfecting the Juche-oriented tactics of fire strike and developing various ballistic missiles.
