The US and south Korea launched the largest-ever “Ulji Freedom Guardian” joint military exercises on August 22.
US operational groups of the three services to be committed to the drill have already been put in place in and around south Korea, and huge human and material resources of the central and local administrative organs, munitions establishments and private enterprises in south Korea have fully been prepared for war.
The drill set to last till early September is aimed at building the capacity of the allied forces to deal a sudden preemptive nuclear strike during the contingency on the Korean peninsula. It is also to apply a phased war scenario geared to occupation of the DPRK, which involves “creation of conditions for war”, “deterrence”, “initiative-securing operations”, “theatre-controlling operations”, “occupation of Pyongyang” and “assistance to the rule of the government”.
The enemies are trying to cover up the aggressiveness and riskiness of the drill, describing it as “regular, open, transparent and normal”, but the severity of the situation is that it is a last-ditch offensive for military pressure that comes after their hostile measures like unheard-of political isolation and unprecedented economic sanctions have all proved to be futile, the spokesman for the General Staff of the Korean People’s Army said in a statement on August 22.
“They should be well aware that from now on, the KPA combined units for primary strike are constantly on high alert to deal a preemptive counterstrike to all the enemy’s offensive groups involved in the drill,” he said as he announced the principled stance on behalf of the KPA General Staff.
The nuclear war maniacs should keep in mind that the KPA would mount a merciless preemptive nuclear strike of Korean style to the source of provocation to reduce it to rubbles if they show any slight sign of aggression against the DPRK’s territory, waters and airspace, he added.
The Korean revolutionary armed forces will hold the arms higher to put an eternal end to the moves of the US and south Korean lackeys to start a nuclear war, he noted.
Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country issued a statement to warn that the reckless military moves of the US and the treacherous Park Geun Hye clique would precipitate their already doomed fate.
