Splendid streets and villages have sprung up in the flood-hit northern areas of North Hamgyong Province, bringing great pleasure and joy to the people across the country.
More than 3 000 blocks of dwelling houses for over 11 900 families were newly built in a matter of two months in well over a hundred places of Hoeryong and Musan, Yonsa, Onsong, Kyongwon and Kyonghung counties, which took the brunt of the worst-ever flood since Korea’s liberation.
Severed roads have reopened and trains run along rebuilt railways. Bells ring out more loudly at new schools and kindergartens, and the displaced residents have moved into wonderful new homes provided by the government gratis.
Misfortune and blessing are an antonym that cannot match like water and fire. The expression of turning misfortune into blessing is a synonym for miracle like an expression that the sky is replaced with the earth.
The miracle in the northern areas can only be worked by the Workers’ Party of Korea that takes it as its most important affair to take responsible care of the people.
The rehabilitation campaign was a great battle unprecedented in history that required the construction of new streets and villages in the shortest span of time in the face of wicked sanctions and blockade of hostile forces.
Supreme leader Kim Jong Un who was grieved most by the disaster ensured that the focus of the 200-day campaign was shifted to the rehabilitation and mapped out a grand plan to rebuild the stricken areas into socialist paradise.
Lest the residents should be distressed by the cold weather, he set the house-building project as the primary task of the rehabilitation and saw to it that all the human, material and technical potentials were concentrated on the project.
Those units which had been engaged in major projects of the 200-day campaign, especially that for Ryomyong Street, and other construction forces were dispatched to the rehabilitation front, and a great deal of relief materials including food, school things, clothes and shoes were sent to the victims despite difficulties in transport.
During the past scores of days, the service personnel and people throughout the country always kept the northern front in their mind and breathed the same breath as the locals in the afflicted areas, true to the intention of the supreme leader to win a miraculous victory of turning misfortune into blessing on the rehabilitation front by dint of single-minded unity.
Service members and builders built earthly paradises representative of socialist civilization by working day and night, while working people across the country supported the northern front with unprecedented upswing in production.
They also sent lots of consumer goods to the afflicted people with parental and brotherly affection, showcasing the true image of a large socialist family in which all its members help and lead one another forward.
The hurrahs of the Workers’ Party of Korea and socialism and laughter of happiness are heard at the new streets and villages.
The rehabilitation has fully demonstrated the harmonious whole of the DPRK rallied firmly around the Party and the victorious tradition of the Korean revolution in which the service personnel and people turn out with the same mind and intention to turn adversity into prosperity and misfortune into blessing in response to the call of the Party.
