Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army (KPA) Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Commission, guided the "Dropping and Target-striking Contest of KPA Special Operation Forces - 2017".

Taking part in the contest were combatants of the special operation battalion under the direct control of KPA Unit 525, the 4th taskforce of the 5th detached force of Unit 2625 of KPA Large Combined Unit 630, the 2nd taskforce of the 1st detached force of Unit 252 of the KPA Navy and the 1st taskforce of the 1st detached force of Unit 323 of the KPA Air and Anti-Aircraft Force and light transport and helicopter gunship regiments of the Air and Anti-Aircraft Force.

The Supreme Commander heard a report on the program of the contest and issued an order to start it at the observation post.

Light transport planes made zero feet flight in the sky above the drill ground and combatants dropped from them.

The Supreme Commander said with a broad smile on his face that the combatants were very good at dropping from the planes making zero feet flight. He was pleased that the commanding officers of those taskforces and pilots of the transport planes properly fixed the dropping place, the flight altitude and the dropping moment in a coordinated operation and that they seemed to have made a deep study of the reconnaissance data about the enemy targets.

Watching the brave combatants mercilessly blow up the enemy targets, he said with pleasure that the commanding officers made correct decisions, adding those combatants carrying out their duties independently and pro-actively were reminiscent of fierce tigers crossing the mountain ranges in the southern half.

After watching an automatic rifle live bullet firing of combatants of the special operation battalion under the direct control of KPA Unit 525, he said that the bullets seemed to have their eyes and they were crack shots never missing targets.

He said that the contest, successfully conducted in the significant time marking the 105th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung, is like the gift of loyalty presented by the powerful revolutionary Paektusan army to the President who had worked heart and soul to round off the KPA's combat preparations, urging its service personnel to intensify trainings with national reunification in their minds at all times.

He gave the special operation battalion under the direct control of KPA Unit 525, which won in the contest, a pair of binoculars and an automatic rifle as a gift before having a photo session with the participants in the contest. -0-
