“The DPRK army and people will smash all sorts of the gangster-like political, economic and military provocation the US commits pursuant to its anti-DPRK hostile policy with the toughest counteraction,” the spokesman for the General Staff of the Korean People’s Army said on April 14 in a statement clarifying the principled stand of the country.
The statement came as the Trump administration is hell-bent on grave acts of provocation after setting independent military actions as its policy towards the DPRK, which include high-intensity sanctions and pressure, constant deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in south Korea and “beheading operation” and “preemptive strike” aimed at the DPRK’s leadership.
The DPRK’s toughest counteraction, it said, involves different plans including Korean-style preemptive strike accompanied by ground, marine, underwater and aerial manoeuvres, and the proper toughest counteraction of the Korean style will be taken immediately according to the kind and level of the US provocation.
The counteraction will be a merciless yet destructive punishment which admits no survival, it noted, adding the US military bases in south Korea, the Blue House, the Japanese mainland and the US military bases in the Pacific combat zone as well as the continental US are in the sighting range of the DPRK’s Strategic Rocket Force. It will be an unheard-of do-or-die fight which continues till the DPRK’s flag of victory is hoisted, it asserted.
Warning the US to take a right choice for the settlement of issue with its senses in connection with the prevailing grave situation, it advised the Trump administration to remember that the DPRK’s powerful nuclear deterrent has been built up under the persistent US nuclear threat and blackmail.
