Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- An international Paris meeting for Korea's peace and reunification was held in France on June 24.
Taking part in it were delegates of the International Liaison Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea and friendship and solidarity organizations from Denmark, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, Poland, Belgium, Switzerland, Finland, England, Ireland, Haiti and other countries, French personages of various strata and the general representative of the DPRK to France and a delegation of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries.
The secretary-general of the International Liaison Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea made a keynote report at the meeting which was followed by speeches.
The reporter said that the international solidarity movement for the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea is getting intensified on a worldwide scale, and mentioned the validity of the DPRK's step for bolstering up its nuclear force taken to cope with the U.S. aggression moves.
The chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee, the secretary-general of the Finland-Korea Society, the secretary general of the Denmark-DPRK Friendship Association and other speakers praised President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il's feats for Korea's reunification and called upon the progressive mankind to extend invariable support and solidarity to the Korean people's struggle for national reunification.
A final declaration, adopted at the meeting, stressed the need for the organizations of friendship and solidarity with the Korean people to demand the pullout of foreign troops from the Korean peninsula and lift of the U.S. sanctions against the DPRK and struggle against the false propaganda of Western media.
It also called for boosting mutual cooperation with common purpose for promoting Korea's peace and reunification and generalizing the successes and experience gained in the course.
A letter to respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.
Meanwhile, a workshop on the issue of the Korean peninsula took place at the University of Sorbonne with the attendance of French scholars on June 23. -0-
