Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- It is the fixed will of the Korean army and people to protect life and happiness by fighting it out against the enemies, Rodong Sinmun stresses in an article Sunday.
Concession and retreat in the struggle against the imperialists and class enemies may lead to death, the article says, and goes on:
The tragic situation of Iraq and Libya showed how miserable were the aftermath of putting down arms by temptation and atrocious military threat and blackmail of the U.S.
The present reality, in which the U.S. aggression moves are getting evermore pronounced, requires bolstering up the self-reliant defence capability in quality and quantity. The struggle against the imperialists should depend on powerful military strength as it is accompanied by muscle-flexing.
The DPRK directed efforts to building up the military capability even in the most difficult period of Arduous March, Forced March to smash the imperialists' obstructive moves and defend its socialist system, and thus protected the destiny of the country and the nation and opened up a broad avenue to building a socialist power.
Now that the dark clouds of nuclear war against the DPRK is constantly hanging over on the Korean peninsula, it is the steadfast will of our Party and the DPRK government to defend the sovereignty and peace of the country and the dignity of the nation on the powerful self-reliant strength.
Quite right is the stand of the DPRK to further increase in quality and quantity the Juche-based defence capability guaranteeing happiness and prosperity of the people under the banner of the line of simultaneously pushing forward the economic construction and the building of nuclear force as long as there are the imperialists on the earth and their nuclear threats continue. -0-
