Kim Jong Un Guides Combat Flight Contest among Commanding Officers of KPA Air and Anti-Air Force

Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army (KPA) Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, guided the combat flight contest among commanding officers of the KPA Air and Anti-Air Force-2016.
He came out to the airfield with Ri Sol Ju on 9 a.m.
Pilots of fighters of the KPA Air and Anti-Air Force presented bouquets to him.
The commander of the force made an inaugural address.
Kim Jong Un issued an order of sortie to the commanding officers and pilots who lined up before the observation deck on the platform.
The contest was divided into the group of pursuit aircraft and that of light aircraft.
Each pair of a flying regiment took off and flew close to the target area before bombing and strafing the circled target and landing by order. The standings of groups and units were decided according to the points assessed with the help of various type observation apparatuses.
They flew like lightening and succeeded in blowing up all the targets. Watching the hot contest among the commanding officers and pilots, he expressed satisfaction over their high aerobatics. He underscored the need for all airmen to intensify the flight drill so that they can be ready to successfully perform their combat duty even under any unfavorable conditions.
He instructed all commanding officers and pilots of fighters of the air force to steadily improve the quality of their drills in the future, too, on the basis of the successes and experience gained in the current contest and put their rehearsals on a normal track and make part of their life by conducting exercises the way the anti-Japanese guerrillas did in Mt. Paektu.
He stressed that once an order of final attack is issued, they should promptly take off and mercilessly blow up the strongholds of aggression and pave a broad avenue to the units of the People's Army advancing southward.
A prize-awarding ceremony took place.
He met the commanding officers and pilots of fighters who came first in the contest and gave a pep talk to them.
Then he had a photo session with them.
Among the spectators were Ri Su Yong, Ri Man Gon, O Su Yong, Kim Yong Chol, Ri Il Hwan and Ri Yong Rae and Ri Pyong Chol, senior officials of the Central Committee of the WPK, and service personnel of the KPA.
