Thousands of university students across the whole country voluntarily work hard in Samjiyon County, the birthplace of Chairman Kim Jong Il, during their winter holidays from a desire to actively help toward renovating it and erecting new buildings there and thus admirably transforming it into a model of modern mountainous city, an ideal socialist village.
On arriving in the county they paid sincere homage to the statue of the Chairman which stands there and firmly vowed to splendidly develop their priceless socialist homeland by their own efforts before the eyes of the world under the far-reaching plan of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un. It is associated with the leadership and undying exploits of President Kim Il Sung and the Chairman and has been defended generation after generation.
A youth shock brigade of university students was organized for them to work on system, comers from the same province belonging to the same company.
On the first day alone the young university students produced hundreds of cubic meters of broken gravel, plastered first-floor service facilities hundreds of meters square and carried large quantities of crushed pumice and sand.
Every day they work hard by the sweat of their brow, learning the revolutionary spirit of Mt Paektu, the spirit of blizzards of Paektu, the fighting spirit of do-or-die fulfillment, self-reliant work attitude and the culture of heroic youth firsthand on the spot.
