A Korean book-donating ceremony took place at the Sakhalin Regional Branch Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation on Jan 28 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il (Day of the Shining Star).

On display at the venue of the ceremony were works of President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un and books introducing the history and culture of Korea and others.

Present there were officials of the Central Committee and various branch committees of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and masses.

A secretary of the Central Committee of the party said that he was pleased to receive works of the great leaders of the Korean people with the approach of the Day of the Shining Star.

He noted that Kim Jong Il is the staunch defender of socialism who made public works such as "Socialism Is a Science" and thus proved the scientific accuracy and truth of socialism and glorified the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

He said that the appearance of the Korean people who firmly keep to socialism despite the imperialist allied forces' vicious sanctions and pressure makes them have confidence in victory of socialism.

The documents of the great persons of the DPRK are the precious textbooks to be deeply studied by all of them, he stressed.

The first secretary of the Sakhalin Regional Branch Committee of the party said that he was deeply impressed by the ardent loyalty of the Korean people to their leader and patriotism.

He stressed that the red flag of socialism still flutters in the DPRK and its people-oriented policies remind the Russian people of their happy days under the socialist system.

The successes registered by the Korean people last year give them great might and courage, he added.
