Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- A meeting of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea (DFRK) took place here on Monday.
It was attended by Choe Hwi, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Yong Dae, chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Social Democratic Party, Ri Myong Chol, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Chondoist Chongu Party, members of the DFRK Central Committee and officials concerned.
Pak Myong Chol, presidium member and director of the Secretariat of the DFRK Central Committee, made an opening address.
He said the election of deputies to the 14th Supreme People's Assembly will serve as an important political occasion in successfully realizing the patriotic desires of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, the founder and builders of the DPRK, for building a powerful nation.
The election will powerfully demonstrate the invincibility of the DPRK advancing toward a bright future while opening up a great heyday of its prosperity by firmly adhering to our state-first principle and by dint of the single-minded unity and self-reliance, he noted.
Calling on the participants in the meeting to bear deep in mind the political significance and importance of the election and make tangible contribution to encouraging all the people to unanimously vote for the candidates during the election and thus adding glory to Korean-style socialism centered on the popular masses, in which all people are firmly united behind Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, he declared the meeting open.
The meeting discussed the issue of adopting an appeal of the DFRK Central Committee to all Koreans ahead of the election of deputies to the 14th Supreme People's Assembly.
The appeal was adopted there.
