The Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex has mainly finished building a refractory workshop with a large productive capacity. All its working processes were test-run and the pressure on a network of its gas pipes tested with success. Preparations for full-scale refractory production are pushed forward vigorously.
True to the intention of the Party to enhance the self-sustenance and Juche character of the metalworking industry further, the HISC decided to newly build a tunnel calcining furnace the technology of high-temperature air combustion is applied to and produce the refractory needed to increase its iron and steel output.
The HISC nominated its competent officials for the leadership and stepped up the work of laying the foundations of the calcining furnace, building it and erecting its equipment simultaneously. The workers of the HISC strove hard as one to solidify the foundations for the production of Juche-oriented iron and steel. They registered successes in constructing the calcining furnace in the spirit of self-reliance despite their obstacles and hardship.
This enabled it to turn out refractory on its own and boost its iron and steel output.
