New industrial designs have been created in the industrial art sector.
This year alone, the creating staff of the Korean Industrial Design Studio, the Pyongyang Municipal Industrial Design Studio, Pyongyang University of Publishing and Printing Engineering, Pyongyang University of Fine Arts, Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry and other units produced thousands of pieces of valuable industrial designs for industry, commerce, environment, building decoration and signboard.
The designs of logo of the Wonsan-Kalma coastal tourist area, tourist tramcar and service costume give refreshing feelings as they highlight the characteristics of marine city.
Hundreds of ad designs for the exterior and interior of service networks to be established in the Samjiyon area, which is being transformed into a model of modern mountainous town, intensify the characteristic features of relevant units while showcasing the plastic aspect according to objects.
A variety of packaging designs for cosmetics from the Sinuiju and Pyongyang cosmetics factories meet the tastes and emotion of women who are desirous of loftiness and beauty and visually show the quality and characteristics of products.
The design of congratulatory letter using dried flowers is the first of its kind.
Various designs relying on the dried flowers, which preserve the colour and softness as much as possible, give an impression of enjoying elaborate works of art while presenting natural beauty.
Some 100 Korean costume designs reflect national sentiment and aesthetic sense of the times.
Chima (skirt) and jogori (jacket), paji (trousers) and jogori, turumagi (Korean overcoat), paeja (women’s waistcoat), tangui (ceremonial dress) and vest designs heighten refined beauty with the combination of harmony of soft colours and ornamental elements.
