Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, provided field guidance to Taesong Department Store just before its opening.
Looking round counters on each floor, Supreme Leader of the Party, state and army Kim Jong Un was given details of the renovation and enlargement of the department store, and goods exhibition and service readiness.
Now that the modern department store has been completed, it has become possible to provide citizens of the capital with different varieties of more quality foodstuffs, clothing, footwear, household articles, sundry goods for daily use, school things and goods for cultural use, he said.
It was easily noticeable that the goods are exhibited in diverse and attractive ways and styles, and the environment and scope of service and quality and diversity of goods are on the high level, he said, before emphasizing that quality daily necessities and mass consumption goods should be procured and sold in abundance for the convenience of the people so as to satisfy their daily growing desire and wish.
He clarified specific tasks for improving the management and operation of the department store and its commercial service as required by the Party's commercial policy.
He was accompanied by Vice-Chairmen of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea Choe Ryong Hae and An Jong Su, vice department directors of the WPK Central Committee, officials of the State Affairs Commission and other officials concerned.
