The south Korean conservatives who have all but faded away since the impeachment of Park Geun Hye are now out to expand their influence as they set up different kinds of organizations.
A “reserve generals’ corps” was formed late last January with four former defence ministers as co-representatives and by involving over 450 reserve generals, and a “Ryongnam symbiotic forum” was formed in mid-February by merging six conservative groups in the Kyongsang provincial region.
A conservative body called “Acting free citizen” was inaugurated late last March, followed by another one named “Platform liberty and republic” on April 1.
At the inaugural meetings, they reportedly asserted that it is needed to form a conservative organization that can check Moon Jae In’s leftist dictatorship and the promotion of its internal and external policies and that they would make a “conservative right-wing camp’s grassroots organization” that can compete with such progressive democratic organizations as the Citizens’ Solidarity for Democratic Society and the Civic Federation for Economic Justice.
The candlelight protesters had given a stern judgment on not just the Park clique but the conservative camp, a hotbed of all evils.
The crime-ridden, scandal-mired conservatives are the wrecker of peace as they inflicted anxiety, agony and disasters on the local people and reduced the Korean peninsula to the hottest spot on the globe with subservience to the US, anti-popular fascist rule, confrontation with the north and war moves.
It is self-evident that if they set the south Korean political circles on the rightist path in league with the Liberal Korea Party, they, in a frantic bid to seize power, will be bent on bloodthirsty vengeance against the progressive democratic forces that sent them downhill to ruin.
All the Korean compatriots within and without should no longer remain onlooker to the south Korean conservatives’ moves for revival.
