Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- The 107th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung (the Day of the Sun) was celebrated by all peoples of the world.
Preparatory committees for celebrating the birth anniversary were formed in different parts of the five continents in the wake of the formation of a national preparatory committee in Mexico in January.
The preparatory committees with prominent political and public figures involved held colorful political and cultural events in praise of the noble career and feats of the President, the tender-hearted father of all people, indomitable revolutionary and great politician.
Amid the daily-growing atmosphere of celebrating the Day of the Sun, Russian figures including the founder of the Gelion Construction Company sent gifts to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un .
The Workers' Party for the Independence of Senegal, Swiss organizations, the chief of the Lebanese Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the chairman of the Arab Committee for Solidarity with Korean People and Supporting the Reunification of Korea and the head of Department of the Political Faculty of University of Damascus, Syria in their statements praised the President as the great teacher and great sage who illuminated the road ahead of the era of independence with the torch of Juche and defended justice with his iron will and wise leadership.
On the occasion of the Day of the Sun, foreign political parties, organizations, delegations and figures from all walks of life made congratulatory visits to the DPRK missions in their countries, and the Cambodian king and great queen and the president of the International Group of Italy sent large floral baskets.
A floral basket was laid at the portrait of the smiling President with due ceremony at the building of the Organization of Solidarity of the Peoples of Africa, Asia and Latin America, and there took place all over the world hundreds of colorful events such as joint celebration meeting of Nordic progressive political parties and friendship organizations, American regional internet seminar, the Russian national seminar on the Juche idea "Patriotism and Self-Reliance", Korean book, photo and handicraft exhibition, book-donating ceremony and internet photo exhibition.
Foreign media reported the sacred history of the great sun before and after April 15.
