Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, gave field guidance to February 8 General Machine Factory.

The Supreme Leader of the Party, the State and the armed forces looked round the revolutionary museum.

Recollecting with deep emotion October 28, 2011 when he visited the factory together with Chairman Kim Jong Il, he said that the employees of the factory should cherish the great devotion made by Kim Jong Il for the strengthening of the factory till the last period of his life, and take the lead in the nationwide drive by carrying forward the tradition of the factory which has upheld the Party with high production achievements out of loyalty.

Being reported about the technological updating of the factory and the implementation of the production plan, he looked round production shops.

Going along the streamlined production processes, the Supreme Leader stressed the need to introduce such processes a lot and ensure substantial control of labor and thus put the production going at a high level.

He underlined the need to conduct ideological education of the employees of the factory in a substantive way with a main emphasis on the accomplishment of the revolutionary task, and to provide good working and living conditions.

Even though the factory has made remarkable progress as against the past, we should not be contented with this, he said, calling for mapping out higher modernization plan to reflect the needs of the ever-changing times and steadily carrying it out on an annual basis.

Saying that all the elements of the factory ranging from the production processes and sci-tech dissemination center to cultural hall should meet the modernity and requirement under the Party policies, the Supreme Leader called on the factory to set an example and generalize it across the country so that everyone can turn out with clear understanding of what the modernization intended by the Party is.

Watching modern machine goods produced by the factory, he learned in detail about the performance and stressed the need to enhance the scientific level of the testing and measuring devices and put into force strict test system.

Watching varieties of daily necessity goods produced by the workers of the factory, he spoke highly of producing various useful goods through effective use of idle and available materials in the local area.

It is to his liking that the factory is alive with the drive for establishing cultured practice in production and living, he said, adding that the factories across the country should learn from the traits of this factory.

Noting that he was greatly satisfied to look round the factory, he earnestly asked the factory officials to convey his regards to all the employees of the factory.

He was accompanied by officials of the WPK Central Committee and the State Affairs Commission including Jo Yong Won, Yu Jin, Kim Yong Su, Hyon Song Wol, Kim Chang Son and Ma Won Chun. -0-
