Pyongyang, June 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, Sunday watched a performance given by amateur art groups of the wives of officers of units of the Korean People's Army (KPA) selected in the seventh round of the second-term contest of art groups of KPA officers' wives.

The Supreme Leader of the Party, the State and the armed forces appeared in the auditorium together with his wife Ri Sol Ju.

Among the audience were Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, first vice-chairman of the SAC of the DPRK and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, leading officials of the WPK Central Committee including Ri Man Gon, Pak Kwang Ho, Ri Su Yong, Kim Phyong Hae, Choe Hwi, An Jong Su, Pak Thae Dok, Pak Thae Song, Kim Yong Chol, Kim Su Gil and Kim Ki Nam, commanding officers of the KPA and creators and artistes of major art troupes.

The performance was given by members of the amateur art groups of wives of the officers of the Fourth Corps and the Air and Anti-Aircraft Force of the KPA.

The performers impressively represented the ideological and mental features of KPA officers' wives, who make every moment of their life honorable with ardent yearning for the leader and boundless loyalty to him, in such numbers as solo and pangchang "Yearning", chorus "Our Leader Loved by People", accordion ensemble and chorus "Our National Flag", chorus "Ardent Desire", instrumental trio ensemble "Beautiful Vapour Trail" and national instrumental ensemble "Our Socialism Is the Best in the World".

The performance was highly acclaimed by the audience for successfully showing that the defence line of the country is impregnable as long as there are a large unit of women revolutionaries who bear in mind the great trust and expectation of the Party Central Committee and add dynamism to the revolution with love and devotion.

At the end of the performance, Kim Jong Un called near to him the son of a pilot who sacrificed himself for combat duty and the child whom he named at a conference, and embraced them and wished them a happy future.

He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the members of amateur art groups of officers' wives gave an excellent performance of great ideological and artistic influence finely reflecting the Party policies on the basis of the Party's leadership exploits associated the units and their real life.

Stressing the importance of the performance of amateur art groups of officers' wives, which is strong in motive and appealing power, in the ideological and cultural construction of the Party, he praised their revolutionary and noble mental world and cultural attainments as the motive power of the revolution, model for the whole society and said that all the members of the society should live and work regarding officers' wives as a model.

He expressed expectation that the wives of officers would bring the revolutionary and beautiful life put on the stage into fuller bloom at their posts as good elucidators and disseminators of the Party policies. -0-
