It has been 25 years since the demise of President Kim Il Sung, but his undying exploits are still remembered by the Korean people and the world’s progressives.
Kim Il Sung was the peerlessly elder statesman who put the trend of history in the 20th century on an orbit of independence.
In his teens the President embarked on the road of revolution and founded the immortal Juche idea for the first time in the history of human thought, clarifying the iron truth that independence is the lifeline of the country, nation and popular masses and the revolution should be carried out in an independent and creative way.
He set it as the fundamental principle to realize the cause of national liberation in colonial Korea by its own strength and, on this basis, achieved the historic cause of Korea's liberation from Japan's colonial rule to open up a new era in which the popular masses make the revolution of their country independently, free from domination and subordination.
Regarding it as a moral duty to give assistance to the nations struggling for independence against imperialism, he supported the Chinese revolution at the cost of blood and deterred the Japanese imperialists from invading the Soviet Union through fierce harassment operations behind enemy lines during the anti-Japanese armed struggle.
After Korea's liberation on August 15, 1945, he dispatched a large number of elite Korean fighters and gave every possible support for the victory of the Chinese revolution.
Though the DPRK was suffering hardships in socialist construction due to the imperialists' obstructive moves in the postwar period, he extended full support and encouragement to the peoples of Asia, Africa and Latin America in their struggle for national liberation against imperialism.
So, the world people steadily accord high praises to President Kim Il Sung who showed the road ahead of mankind and made great contribution to the cause of global independence.
