Our celebrated port city of Wonsan has long been noted for its fish and shellfish dishes.
Of late, its mixture of boiled rice and the cooked clams of the East Sea of Korea is popular among customers.
In Wonsan the Kalma Restaurant has acquired fame by cooking rice and clam well. It was spoken highly of at a provincial Wonsan boiled rice and clam competitive show held a month ago.
In the dish the sapidity of clams blends well with the hotness of capsicums to be quite pleasant to the palate.
A dweller in Sogu-dong, Wonsan, said: “A month ago I watched the Wonsan boiled rice and clam competitive show on television. I’ve since wondered how delicious the dish will be. Tasting it I found it all delicacy.”
