Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- Wonsan boiled rice with clam meat, a new specialty of Kangwon Province, is now getting popularity among citizens of the DPRK.

This food is characterized by sweet taste and good flavor.

In this regard, Ri Kum Sil, manager of the Songdo Restaurant in Moranbong District of Pyongyang which serves special dishes of Kangwon Province, told KCNA:

Kangwon Province, surrounded by sea and mountains, is famous for special dishes made with edible herbs and marine products.

Typical of them is boiled rice with clam meat. This food is cooked with clam meat as well as glutinous rice, rice, pepper, ginger, cinnamon powder and leave of Ligularia fischeri.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un saw the boiled rice with clam from the East Sea of Korea and named it Wonsan boiled rice with clam meat. -0-
