After joining the volunteer corps, Yang Phan Gi distinguished himself in an assault in April, 1951.

On June 29, 1951, President Kim Il Sung summoned heroes of the Republic and model combatants to the Supreme Command and gave a submachine gun to Yang Phan Gi to appreciate his military merit.

Yang Phan Gi served as a lecturer at the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum under the loving care and trust of the peerlessly great men.

Jon Ki Bong, who was brought up as a commanding officer of the People's Army under the care of Kim Il Sung, led over 130 rounds of combats to victory during the Fatherland Liberation War.

The ceremonies of burying remains took place on Tuesday.

Remains of Yang Phan Gi and Jon Ki Bong were buried together with their wives'.
