Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- In recent days, dishonest forces, instigated by the Western countries, have raised a riot in Hong Kong, China against the revision of law on surrender of criminals, seriously destabilizing the social and political situation.
They are destroying public establishments and indiscriminately beating policemen and innocent citizens while crying out for human rights, and even raided the police headquarters and the building of legislative body.
Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Friday says that timed to coincide with the riot, the Western countries including the U.S. are using it as a golden opportunity to defame China while raising the level of threat and blackmail against China.
The commentary says the Hong Kong crisis goes to prove that it is an outcome of a plot hatched by the U.S. and other Western countries and separatists in Hong Kong to check the development of China and split and disintegrate it.
It goes on:
Any country, organization and individual are not entitled to interfere in the affair of Hong Kong.
The sovereignty of China should be respected and the interference in the affair of Hong Kong not be allowed in any form.
Furthermore, it is important not to instigate those engaging violent illegal actions causing disorder in Hong Kong under the current situation.
The affair of Hong Kong is one of internal affairs of China from A to Z, so that it should be settled in conformity with the desire of the Chinese people without any external interference.
The DPRK supports the measures taken by the party and the government of China for the settlement of Hong Kong crisis and is confident that the measures will be substantially conducive to ensuring the territorial integrity and social stability of China.
