Hyesan, August 13 (KCNA) -- Youth and students from across the country made a study tour of revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu from August 1 to 13.
They left Hyesan for Pochonbo where they made rounds of the command post of the Battle of Pochonbo, the Police Sub-station, the subcounty office, etc.
They saw round the Samjiyon Grand Monument, the groups of subsidiary theme sculptures and revolutionary sites on the shore of Lake Samji.
After learning about the military wisdom, strong pluck and mysterious guerrilla tactics of President Kim Il Sung at the Sinsadong Revolutionary Battle Site and before the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Musan Area, they climbed Mt Paektu, holy mountain of the revolution, on August 9.
They visited Chairman Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp and looked round historical mementoes, recollecting his revolutionary career.
At the Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site and Chongbong and Konchang bivouacs, they grasped the exploits performed by Kim Jong Il who made the first study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu in order to further glorify the revolutionary traditions of Paektu as the eternal cornerstone of the Workers' Party of Korea and the revolution.
During the study tour, the youth and students had a meeting to hear impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas and a contest of singing revolutionary songs in chorus while marching in array, worked together with builders and rendered aid materials to them in the township of Samjiyon.
They also went round the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station. -0-
