Enlarged plenary meetings of Provincial (Municipal) Committees of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) took place on Jan. 13 and 14 to carry through the highly important tasks set forth at the 5th Plenary Meeting of the 7th Party Central Committee.

Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, first vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly, guided the Enlarged Plenary Meeting of the North Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the WPK.

Premier Kim Jae Ryong, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and member of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, Ri Man Gon, Ri Il Hwan, Choe Hwi, Ri Pyong Chol, Kim Tok Hun, Pak Thae Dok and Pak Thae Song, members of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and vice chairmen of the WPK Central Committee and other officials of the WPK Central Committee also guided the enlarged plenary meetings of the Provincial (Municipal) Party Committees.

Present at the meetings were members and alternate members of the Provincial (Municipal) Party Committees and Party and administrative officials in the provinces, cities and counties.

Reports were made at the enlarged plenary meetings.

Reporters said that the 5th Plenary Meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the WPK constitutes a pivotal occasion that illuminated the bright ways for intensifying the struggle to bolster up our internal strength in every way and realize at an early date the high ambitions and ideals of building a powerful country without a moment's stagnation and standstill.

They underlined the need to create a new history of great country under the unfurled banner of achieving prosperity by dint of self-reliance.

They analyzed and reviewed in depth the shortcomings of Party organizations in failing to enhance their militant functions and role in the struggle to implement the ideas of the Party and defend its policies.

Put forth at the reports were tasks to take greater steps forward in the revolutionary advance this year in which falls the 75th founding anniversary of the WPK.

At the enlarged plenary meetings, draft resolutions were modified and supplemented reflecting the creative opinions advanced by the participants and were adopted with unanimous approval.

Reflected in the resolutions were problems arising in Party organizations conducting positively the ideological education to help the officials, Party members and other working people to have a correct understanding of the basic idea, basic spirit of the 5th Plenary Meeting of the 7th Party Central Committee and in making provinces endeavor devotedly to carry through Party’s policies.

The enlarged plenary meetings fully demonstrated the iron will of all participants to discharge their responsibilities and role in glorifying this year marking the 75th founding anniversary of the WPK as a year of proud victories to be specially recorded in the history of the country.
