Tokyo, February 16 (KNS-KCNA) -- A meeting of Koreans in Japan took place at the Korean Hall of Culture in Tokyo, Japan on February 15 in celebration of the 78th birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il.
Attending the meeting were Ho Jong Man, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), Nam Sung U, vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Pae Jin Gu, vice-chairman and concurrently director general of the General Affairs Department of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Pak Ku Ho, vice-chairman and concurrently director of the Organization Department of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Jo Il Yon, vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Kang Chu Ryon, vice-chairwoman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and concurrently chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Democratic Korean Women in Japan, Ri Myong Yu, chairman of the Central Audit Committee of Chongryon, Pak Chung U, chairman of the Korean Federation of Workers in Commerce in Japan, Han Tong Song, rector of the Korean University, advisers and department directors of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, chairpersons of the Chongryon headquarters in Kanto, leading officials of the central leadership bodies and affiliates, Koreans from all walks of life and youth and students.
Ho Jong Man in his report praised Kim Jong Il, who made a forced march for field guidance all his life for the prosperity of the country and realization of the dreams and ideal of the people, as a peerless patriot and a boundlessly benevolent leader of the people who provided the eternal foundation for building a powerful socialist country and achieving the prosperity of the country.
He called for glorifying forever the revolutionary career of Kim Jong Il and the immortal leadership exploits performed by him for the movement of Koreans in Japan and for opening up a period of upheaval of new victory in carrying out the patriotic cause of Chongryon by more dynamically conducting the patriotic movement in this significant year marking the 75th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 65th anniversary of the formation of Chongryon.
