Pyongyang, February 18 (KCNA) -- The Swiss Organizing Committee for the International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, the Switzerland-Korea Committee, the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and other organizations issued a joint statement on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star, the birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il.
The statement said:
Generalissimo Kim Jong Il faithfully carried forward the revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered by President Kim Il Sung.
He is a prominent thinker and theoretician who formulated the revolutionary idea of the President as Kimilsungism and a great state leader, peerlessly brilliant commander of Songun and benevolent father who devoted his all to the happiness of the people, regarding it as his lifetime motto to believe in the people as in Heaven.
He turned the DPRK into the politico-ideological power and military power with his unique Songun politics, laid a firm foundation for the building of a powerful socialist country and made an immortal contribution to national reunification, the greatest desire of the Korean nation.
The statement extended eternal glory to Kim Jong Il.
