Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- Changsong County in North Phyongan Province is known as the model county of local industry in the DPRK.
In the past, the county was the poorest area in the country for its natural and climatic conditions. Mountainous district accounts for 95 percent of the county's whole area and its mean atmospheric temperature is the lowest in the province.
But this mountain county has been turned into a place good to live in under the guidance of the peerlessly great men.
President Kim Il Sung visited the county 108 times for 389 days from the mid-1950s, just after the Fatherland Liberation War, traveling journey of at least 21 600 kilometers.
Determined to improve the living conditions of inhabitants in the mountainous areas by sprucing up the county as a model, he went round all mountains and valleys in the county to lay a foundation for its inhabitants' wellbeing. And he convened the historic Changsong Joint Conference with a plan to step up the overall socialist construction by bringing about a turn in the development of the local economy and people's livelihood and enhancing the role of each county.
Upholding the intention of the President, Chairman Kim Jong Il visited local industrial factories in the county scores of times and gave important instructions for their development.
He made public such famous works as "On Improving the Economic Life of the County True to the Spirit of the Historic Changsong Joint Conference", thus making the flames of local industry development spread across the country.
True to the noble idea "The people are my God" of the President and the Chairman, Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un gave on-site guidance to various sectors of the county in June Juche 102 (2013) to indicate the ways for strengthening the role of the county and bettering the people's livelihood. -0-
