Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- The April 16 Consultative Council of Families of Victims and the April 16 Solidarity of south Korea held a press conference at the plaza of the ferry Sewol in Seoul on March 23 in demand of the punishment of those chiefly responsible for the ferry Sewol disaster in the election of "national assemblymen," according to the south Korean internet paper Jaju Sibo.
Speakers said that 6 years have passed since the ferry Sewol disaster, but the truth behind the disaster remains vague and those chiefly responsible for it have not been punished.
They charged that worse still, those indicted for the disaster run for the election of the "national assemblymen".
They noted they would open to the public the crimes committed by those who obstructed the probe into the truth behind the disaster and insulted its victims and to launch a campaign for making them fail in the election.
The organizations set a memorial period from March 23 to April 18 and said they would conduct various activities throughout south Korea in order to probe into the truth behind the disaster, punish those chiefly responsible for it and build a safe society. -0-
