Pyongyang, May 25 (KCNA) -- The Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) of the DPRK sent a message of greeting to the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) on May 25 on the occasion of its 65th anniversary.

The message extended warm congratulations and compatriotic greetings to Chairman Ho Jong Man and all other Chongryon officials and Koreans.

The formation of Chongryon, a dignified organization of overseas citizens of the DPRK, was the precious fruition of President Kim Il Sung's unique idea on the overseas compatriots' movement and guidance on the movement, and the formation was a historic event which brought about a fundamental turn in the development of the movement of Koreans in Japan and carving out the destiny of Koreans in Japan, the message said.

It said that the 65 years after Chongryon formation were the period of victory and honor when the organization paved and glorified the new path of the overseas compatriots' movement in the era of independence under the guidance of President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, adding that the years were also a patriotic period during which Chongryon made a great contribution to the country and nation.

The message said that Chongryon has thoroughly applied the immortal Juche idea to the building of the organization and all its patriotic activities with the idea as the only guidelines so as to strengthen and develop it into an patriotic organization in which the ideological system of Juche, the leadership system, was thoroughly established and which has the might of the single-minded unity. Chongryon has also prepared its officials and compatriots as people strong in ideology and faith and ardent patriots who are boundlessly loyal to their leader and motherland, the message added.

In the face of the persistent moves of the enemies at home and abroad for stifling the organization, Chongryon officials and compatriots in Japan have reliably defended their organization, the legacy of patriotism left by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, and demonstrated to the whole world its true nature and might as an organization of overseas citizens of Juche Korea, the message said.

The message expressed the belief that the officials of Chongryon and compatriots in Japan would, in the future, too, add lustre to the organization, which shines by the august names of the peerlessly great men, as the patriotic pioneer, the example of patriotism and loyalty and the paragon of the movement of the overseas compatriots in the world.
