Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- A campaign to improve teachers' qualifications is actively underway.

Tens of thousands of school and kindergarten teachers throughout the country are receiving the online in-service training.

Over 22 000 teachers from schools for general education and kindergarteners are receiving the in-service training through the tele-educational networks provided by universities of education and teacher training colleges. A daily average of at least 10 000 teachers learn through the tele-educational networks.

Universities of education and teacher training colleges are putting emphasis on preparing proper teaching plans and reeducating teachers in the same teaching environments as in the universities and colleges.

Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, Ri Kye Sun Sariwon University of Education, Kanggye Teacher Training College, etc. developed tele-education support systems and applied them in teacher training colleges and the units for in-service training across the country.

Keeping in close touch with the tele-education faculties of Kim Chol Ju University of Education and Pyongyang Teachers Training College, officials in the educational sphere of Pyongyang City are ensuring that school and kindergarten teachers in the city receive in-service training, while providing conditions necessary for tele-education.

More teachers in each province, city and county are improving their qualifications through the tele-education. -0-
