Rodong Sinmun Calls for Consolidating Ideological and Cultural Position in Every Way

Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- It is an important requirement for bringing earlier the victory in the on-going frontal breakthrough to further consolidate the ideological and cultural position, says Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in an article, and goes on:
The on-going offensive for making a breakthrough head-on is a worthwhile struggle to open up a new broad avenue in socialist construction under the uplifted banner of self-reliance, and a great ideological campaign for consolidating our revolutionary position, class position in every way.
When the revolutionary idea and culture get dominance, the spirit of self-sustenance and self-reliance is fully displayed and miraculous successes and innovations admired by the peoples of the world are created.
The challenges and barriers to our revolutionary advance do not exist merely in the economic field. The imperialists' moves for ideological and cultural poisoning are getting evermore vicious to disintegrate us from within by benumbing our people's revolutionary consciousness, class consciousness and by shaking the foundation of our socialist system. If we fail to build the ideology and culture of our own style, it would entail irrevocable consequences.
At the historic Fifth Plenary Meeting of its Seventh Central Committee that set forth the idea on launching an offensive for making a breakthrough head-on, our Party stressed the need to wage an intensified campaign against anti-socialist and non-socialist practices and tighten moral discipline throughout society.
Success in strengthening our internal motive force in every way and creating socialist civilization depends on the struggle for consolidating the ideological and cultural position. -0-
