Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) -- Foreign Minister Ri Son Gwon met Li Jinjun, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Thursday.
Ri Son Gwon expressed the support of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the government of the DPRK to the measures taken by the Chinese party and government over the issue of Hong Kong.
Saying that as the issue of Hong Kong is an internal affair of the People's Republic of China (PRC), the foreign forces' interference in it is a wanton violation of the sovereignty of China and international law, he stressed that the DPRK will as always positively support the stand of the Chinese party and government to safeguard the sovereignty and security of the state and its territorial integrity.
Li Jinjun thanked for the support of the Party and government of the DPRK, and said that the Chinese side would strive to promote the construction and development of socialism in the two countries and realize the common ideal and goal by strengthening the cooperation with the DPRK side.
He wished the WPK and the Korean people great successes in all fields of the socialist construction under the wise leadership of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un this year that will mark the 75th founding anniversary of the WPK.
