Pyongyang, July 9 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung had always regarded himself as the son of the people and their servant.
His pleasure was to provide the people with affluent and cultured life.
On a summer day of Juche 61 (1972) marking his 60th birthday, the President went to Sinpho Port after hearing that a cold-storage factory was built there. And he learned in detail about its refrigerating capacity and equipment, staying at a quick-freezing space for a long time.
When officials worried about the health of the President in summer attire, he said that one should not hesitate to go through fire and water for the sake of the people.
In his lifetime the President made a ceaseless journey of the countryside, taking much pains to the country's farm work. On one day of August 1993 alone, he visited five farms in South Hwanghae Province to give instructions on farming.
At a consultative meeting of senior officials in the economic sector held in the last days of his great life, he heard from an official a report on the completion of supply of new clothes to kindergarteners and schoolchildren across the country. He was so happy that he repeatedly expressed thanks to the official.
Indeed, President Kim Il Sung is the tender-hearted father of the people as he devoted his all to them, finding his pleasure in their happiness. -0-
