Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, Wednesday sent a congratulatory message to Raul Castro Ruz, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.

The message extended warm comradely greetings to Raul Castro Ruz with best wishes on his 89th birthday.

It expressed pleasure over the great victory won by the fraternal Cuban people in their efforts to firmly defend the sovereignty and dignity of the country and push on the cause of socialism overcoming manifold difficulties and trials under the leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba headed by Raul Castro Ruz, and full support and solidarity for it.

It expressed the belief that the strategic and comradely relations of friendship and cooperation between the two parties and two countries based on a long history and tradition will be invariably carried forward and developed, and wished Raul Castro Ruz good health and greater success in his noble work of leading the Cuban revolution.
