DPRK-China Friendly Relations Will Be Strengthened and Developed Incessantly

Today marks the 59th anniversary of the conclusion of the DPRK-China Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance.
The treaty personally signed by the leaders of the elder generation of the two countries on July 11, 1961 laid a firm legal foundation for permanently consolidating and developing the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.
It has made a great contribution to developing the DPRK-China friendly relations and advancing the socialist cause of the two countries generation after generation.
The friendship between the two countries is a traditional one nurtured in the sacred struggle for their common cause.
President Kim Il Sung braved the flames of the great anti-Japanese struggle shoulder to shoulder with the Chinese revolutionaries and joined hands with them in frustrating the aggressive and anti-socialist maneuvers of the imperialist reactionaries.
The President frequented China to share comradely friendship with the leaders of China including Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai.
In the course of this, he fostered the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries and handed them down to posterity as a legacy.
Chairman Kim Jong Il solidly carried forward the historical traditions of the DPRK-China friendship created by the President and took great pains to consolidate and develop the friendship till the last moment of his life.
The preceding leaders of China, too, valuing the comradely friendship and intimacy with the great leaders of the DPRK, visited our country several times and rendered active support and encouragement to our people’s cause of building socialism.
The DPRK-China friendship is developing onto a new higher stage thanks to the close intimacy between the supreme leaders of the two countries.
Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un and President Xi Jinping fostered mutual comradely trust through several meetings and formed a close rapport, which demonstrated to the whole world the immutability and invincibility of the DPRK-China friendship.
We fully support all measures taken by the Party and Government of China to defend the country’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity and will always side with the Chinese people in the struggle to safeguard the socialist cause in the future, too.
