History of the Korean nation is glorified in the world by the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung who accurately clarified the 5 000-year history of the Korean nation and fully demonstrated the long history and tradition of the Korean nation.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un said.

“President Kim Il Sung and General Kim Jong Il were true fathers of the nation, peerless patriots and great saints in that, by applying the immortal Juche idea, they not only glorified the modern history of our nation but clarified the 5 000-year history of the Korean nation accurately and demonstrated the nation’s excellence to the whole world.”

Nation exists in history and develops with history. Therefore, accurately clarifying and adding brilliance to the history of a nation is an important patriotic undertaking that enables to demonstrate dignity and honor of a nation through generations.

With his gifted wisdom and Juche-based insight, the President corrected the historical matters which had been distorted and complicated by the big-power chauvinists, thus confirming that Korea is one of the cradles of human civilization and clarifying the history of the Korean nation which has continued since the days of Tangun’s Korea through the law-governed course of historical development.

Seeing through the position and role occupied and played by the national history in the development of revolution, the President corrected from the Juche-oriented stand the historic matters which had remained unsettled or distorted in the historic course from primitive society to the ancient times, the middle and modern times.

Whether or not the Korean nation covered every stage of socio-historic development on a normal basis is a matter of science and at the same time a basic criterion that determines whether the history of the intelligent Korean nation has been developed by foreign influences or in an independent way.

Busy as he was with the building of a new Korea after liberation, the President disclosed falsehood of the “Jizi” tomb on Moran Hill and thus proved groundlessness of the reactionary theory that a foreigner had come to Korea to build an ancient state.

Later, the President clarified scientifically that Tangun is not a mythical person but a real person who founded the first ancient state, and wisely led the unearthing and reconstructing of the King Tangun’s Mausoleum.

The President also clarified the origin of the Koreans and the problem of primitive society in Korea.

Looking at a mammoth exhibited in the then natural museum at Kim Il Sung University in November 1976, the President said that there should be a marmoset once there existed a mammoth in Korea and, accordingly, it was impossible to conclude that mankind came into being in the southern region and found their way to the northern region.

His saying enlightened the historians and served as a fundamental basis that enabled them to originally clarify the problem of primitive society in Korea from a new point of view.

Thanks to the President’s unusual intelligence and scientific insight, new explanations were made to the unsettled matters such as that founding of Koguryo, the first feudal state with strong national power in the middle age dated back to B.C. 277, that emergence and development of capitalist relations and the modern bourgeois reformist movement were made in Korea on the basis of lawful course of historical development, that the culture created by the Korean nation exerted a big influence upon development of the Japanese one, etc., thus clarifying the history of the Korean nation on a scientific basis.

Historic relics and scenic spots serving as the cultural resorts for the people are associated with the immortal exploits of the President.
