West Coast Exchange, North Korea Watcher Conference, Sept. 2026

Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the WPK, inspected different units of the national economy.

At the Sunchon Cement Complex, he learned about the overhaul of a kiln and production.

He gave pep talks to the workers waging a campaign in the spirit of self-reliance and fortitude for increasing the production of cement needed for the recovery from damage by natural disasters, on which the Party concentrates primary efforts, and called on them to increase output by giving full play to the existing production capacity.

The field consultative meeting called for giving priority to the political work to inspire workers, and took measures for decisively strengthening the material and technical foundations of the complex, which plays an important role in implementing the Party's economic policy, and ensuring its strategic and rational management.

Earlier, he visited the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex to acquaint himself with production and care of equipment. He chaired a consultative meeting of officials concerned to complete the project for establishing the C1 chemical industry as early as possible.

Meanwhile, he went round flood-hit Taechong-ri, Unpha County of North Hwanghae Province, where construction of dwelling houses is underway, and underscored the need to finish the construction at the level desired by the Party.
