Pyongyang, October 16 (KCNA) -- On October 17, Juche 15 (1926), President Kim Il Sung formed the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU), the first genuine revolutionary organization in Korea.
In his historic report "Let Us Overthrow Imperialism" delivered at its inaugural meeting, he set forth the programme of the DIU consistent with the anti-imperialist independent stand.
The programme of the DIU was to defeat the Japanese imperialism, the sworn enemy of the Korean people.
After occupying Korea, the Japanese imperialists had completely trampled down the Korean people's sovereignty and right to existence by enforcing the unprecedented colonial oppressive and predatory policies.
Under such situation, the President advanced the idea of smashing the Japanese imperialists and achieving the country's liberation independently on the strength of the Korean people.
The DIU also set it as a goal of its struggle to overthrow all sorts of imperialism on the earth.
It was the steadfast creed of the President that free development of any nation and happiness of the oppressed working masses can be unthinkable without overthrowing the vampire imperialism living on blood of the peoples in colonial countries. At that time, he was in his teens.
