On August 6 2020, Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un had a report that many dwelling houses and a large area of farmland in the area of Taechong-ri, Unpha County, North Hwanghae Province, had been submerged by flood and went to the spot to learn about the actual conditions.
He clarified detailed tasks and ways for the rehabilitation of the damaged area.
Due to the heavy rain for days and downpour caused by the seasonal rainy front, the waterway levee gave way in the area of Taechong-ri of Unpha County, leaving a lot of houses and large hectares of paddy fields inundated.
Saying he was really relieved to hear that there was no casualty as all the residents of Unpha County had been evacuated to safe areas in advance, he called on leadership bodies in the county including Party and government organs, working people’s organizations and public security organs to responsibly conduct the work of putting up those who were left homeless at offices including those at the Party and people’s committees of the county, public buildings and private houses, to stabilize their living and comfort them.
He ordered the relevant sector to submit a document on supplying every household in the afflicted area with the food grain reserve of the Chairman of the State Affairs Commission.
