Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- In recent years, "Nalgae"-trademarked shoes from the Pyongyang Leather Shoes Factory in the DPRK have won a popularity among citizens for their different shapes, beautiful colors, lightness and convenience.
The factory set it as its major business strategy to produce many more and better shoes suited to the tastes, sense of beauty, physical constitution of people and seasonal demand while giving priority to the development of new products and the improvement of quality.
It has organized a product show more than four times every year, urging all the technicians and workers to present their inventions at the show. The show serves as a significant occasion in cultivating the employees' judgment and exchanging their technology and experience.
This year alone, the factory developed 200-odd kinds of quality and smart men's, women's and children's shoes by organizing the shoes design prize contest and introduced over 100 kinds out of them into production. It also developed an adhesive with waste and succeeded in making adhesive for innersole of shoes with domestic raw materials after adopting the localization of raw and other materials and recycling as its strategy for producing multi-variety, diverse, multi-color and light shoes.
It is now pushing ahead with the work to develop new shoetree, improve the sole mold and update the equipment.
The Pyongyang Leather Shoes Factory was established in October Juche 59 (1970).
President Kim Il Sung appointed the site of the factory and visited it in November 1970 to clearly show the road ahead of the factory. -0-
