Pyongyang, October 28 (KCNA) -- Russian newspapers and a regional body dedicated articles to the 94th anniversary of the formation of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU).
The articles were illustrated with photos of President Kim Il Sung.
The Russian paper Komsomolskaya Pravda said in an article, "DIU and Workers' Party of Korea", that President Kim Il Sung realized that the independence of Korea could not be gained through the early communist movement and nationalist movement characterized by power struggles, factional strife, sycophancy and dogmatism; and that he groped for a new path of the struggle and formed the DIU consisting of young revolutionaries with the same idea and will.
The DIU formation was a historic declaration of the new start of the Korean revolution and an epoch-making event marking a radical turning point in the Korean people's carving out of their destiny, the article added.
The Workers' Party of Korea built socialism and it has developed socialism, according to the great ideal and goal put forward by the DIU, the article said.
Only victory and glory are in store for the WPK advancing along the road of independence and socialism, chosen by the DIU, the article stressed.
Similar articles were posted on the online paper Edinaya Korea and the website Patrioti Moskva of Russia.
The Arab-Korean Cooperation Council posted on its website an article, "DIU and President Kim Il Sung", which was about the formation of the DIU by the President on Oct. 17, 1926.
The article stressed that the human history recorded many great persons but has not known such a great man as the President who formed a revolutionary organization in his teens.
