Prime Minister Suga has made a reckless remark that the whole LDP should make energetic efforts to revise the constitution.

What cannot be overlooked is that the LDP is mulling over an idea to completely remove the paragraph which stipulates the abandonment of the right to belligerency and prohibition of possession of combat capability.

The former Abe regime insisted on turning Japan into a country "capable of fighting a war" through the constitution revision and suggested stipulating the existence of the "Self-Defence Forces", while maintaining the paragraph under Article 9 of the pacifist constitution that provides for abandonment of the right to belligerency and the ban on the possession of combat capability in order to evade denunciation at home and abroad and deceive the public.

On October 7, former LDP secretary general Ishiba in a lecture at the Diet building said that Abe and he had originally shared the viewpoint in deleting the above-said paragraph, but Abe changed his mind as he thought he might not gain a majority vote at the referendum, adding that anyone with no ability to handle such a trifling matter would be disqualified for a politician.

The problem is that the Suga regime is showing no opposition to such an ill-boding move within the LDP which openly calls for deleting paragraph 2 of Article 9 of the constitution.

This suggests that the present regime is also seeking the stipulation of the SDF after deleting the paragraph.

The paragraph concerning the abandonment of the right to belligerency and the ban on the possession of combat capability is the core of the pacifist constitution and a legal cornerstone that bans Japan, a criminal state and defeated nation in World War II, from opting for aggression and war.

The intention to delete the paragraph is an open challenge to the Korean people and humankind as it means they intend to build an aggression state, a war state, and repeat the crime-woven past of aggression when they called for the "Greater East-Asia Co-prosperity Sphere" while lording it over the Asian continent in the last century.

Facts prove that the Japanese reactionaries' wild ambition to become a military power and launch overseas reinvasion has become all the more undisguised and entered the phase of implementation.

Japan, which is running headlong into the path of invasion, being oblivious of the lesson from the past defeat in the war, is a root cause threatening peace in the region and the world.

Japan must behave itself, clearly aware that the revision of its constitution will lead it to self-destruction.
