Genuine feature of single-minded unity

It happened one day in June 1998 when Chairman Kim Jong Il visited Huichon City, Jagang Province

The locals, who recognized the car of the Chairman, followed it like a flood shouting hurrah at the top of their voices.

The Chairman kept looking at them tenderly while making a broad smile on his face, before lowering down car window to send his warm acknowledgement.

Young people were running in front of others following the car.

They approached nearer out of desire to see the benevolent image of the Chairman as they wiped out tears with their fists.

The Chairman was so impressed that he told his driver to slow down the car, saying that he could not keep passing through the numerous young people, who were running towards his car shouting hurrah, and that they would feel regrettable if he passed through them for the reason of tight schedule.

The car slowed down.

And the cheers of young and other people reverberated through low and high mountains, shaking streets.

At that time, they stopped for a moment and then surrounded the car arm in arm as if by any order.

Warm tears rolled down on the faces of young people who were standing around.

Waving back to the cheering crowds, he told with deep emotion the official beside him who was moved to tears that the feeling of people who were running towards the car shedding tears and cheering could by no means be imitated nor bartered for money and that this was the true feature which can only be seen in the DPRK where the Party and people are united single-mindedly.

As he brought up such a good people with “The people are my God” as the noble idea, the Chairman got great strength and courage from the looks of the loyal people while feeling convinced of victory of socialism.

Though the people disappeared out of sight, he gazed out of the car window for a long while.

The Chairman went on with his inspection tour as he further hardened his resolve to defend the socialist country on the might of single-minded unity and pave the way for prosperity.
