Pyongyang, November 23 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun in an editorial on Monday calls upon the officials and working people in the agricultural field to turn out as one in preparations for the next year's farming to open up a bright prospect for increasing the agricultural production.
Underlining the need to push ahead with the preparations for the next year's farming, holding fast to the idea of the Party on the five-point requisites for the agricultural development, the editorial says:
All units should exert primary efforts on positively cultivating high-yielding species suitable for topographical characteristics of their areas, true to the Party's policy for bringing about a radical turn in seed improvement.
The agricultural workers should concentrate on producing more manure, bearing in mind that it is impossible for them to make a bumper harvest if they fail to increase the fertility of soil, though they use good seeds and advanced farming methods.
It is very important to secure water in the preparations for farming.
It is also needed to restore the flood-hit fields as early as possible.
To increase the proportion of the farm work done by machines is indispensable for radically increasing agricultural production, as required by the times and developing reality.
