Pyongyang, December 2 (KCNA) -- The symposium on space science and technology-2020 took place in the DPRK.
The symposium was sponsored by the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.
The symposium has been held every year to give wide publicity to the scientific and technological successes in the work for carrying out the policy of the Party and the government on aerospace development for peaceful purposes and accelerate the development of space science and technology.
Attending it were scientists, technicians, teachers, postgraduate students and officials of scientific and educational organs, ministries and national institutions including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, the State Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Agriculture.
The symposium, divided into the panels of artificial satellite, space observation and basic science, space materials and elements and applied technology, was held in the way of announcing standings after examining some 170 treatises presented by relevant units.
Attracting the attention of experts were the achievements helping increase the lifetime of a satellite and its parts and promote its stability and operation accuracy.
Highly appreciated at the symposium were the treatises on combination of information from satellites and meteorological observatories as they are conducive to developing agriculture, land and environment protection and other sectors of the national economy. -0-
