Pyongyang, December 3 (KCNA) -- The policy of the Workers' Party of Korea on national heritage conservation adds glory to historical sites and scenic spots in the DPRK. They are regarded as valuable assets to be handed down through generations.
Taeung Hall, the Archives of the 80,000 Wooden Blocks of Complete Collection of Buddhist Scriptures and other historical relics under the care of the Myohyangsan History Museum have been repainted.
Officials and working people of North Phyongan Province, in close contact with experts, solved the scientific problems in repainting. Timely measures were taken for supply of materials and the historical relics covering an area of thousands of square meters were repainted in a short period.
Ryongmun Cavern has also been splendidly remodeled as a resort for the people and an underground wonderland.
The building at the entrance of the cavern was decorated and embossed with granite and stalactite-shaped sculptures, and passages and areas of hundreds of meters and thousands of square meters in the carven underwent waterproof plastering and painting.
Photos showing natural monuments were posted on walls and floors of some scenic places newly paved and a rainbow-trout pond newly built.
New illuminators were installed to highlight the wonders in the carven and outdoor dining and resting places were built near the remodeled service facilities.
Many trees of good species were planted along the remodeled road between the Pyongyang-Hyangsan tourist motorway and the cavern.
